Vol replacement & prevention of dehydration in childn used concomitantly w/ oral rehydration salts (ORS).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Childn 6 mth-5 yr 5 mL daily, 2-6 mth 2.5 mL daily. All doses should be taken for 10 consecutive days even if diarrhea has stopped.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Should be given concomitantly w/ oral rehydration soln when diarrhea persists.
Adverse Reactions
Vomiting (additional dose should be given if vomiting occurs 30 min after administration; if 2nd dose is vomited, do not give another dose that same day, give it the next day instead).
